Project E30

The BMW E30, my pet project, this is my weekend warrior, the car that brings me great joy and sometimes great sadness. This car has evolved with my skills.

The first upgrade I did was proper suspension, brakes and poly bushes, this made the car nice and tight

But then more power was necessary as the 1.6 liter engine was seriously lacking power from factory at 100 HP and on top of that it was running very rough and was on its last legs.

So a 2.5 liter strait 6 from an E34 was sourced, the engine was missing exhaust, intake and manifolds, oil pan and various misc parts, but with the help of many friends, especially Sergiu, all were found.

Late at night out with the old and in with the new. My friends were debating the following steps, but the steps were go home and go to bed.

With the engine installed a father-son project began creating an exhaust from scratch, I used and X5 mid silencer and an DIY back box. The result is a free flow exhaust, the sound is amazing, very quiet at low revs, but nice and loud near the rev limiter.

The next upgrade is better skills as the jump form 75 or so HP the old engine had to a healthy 200 HP is quite a change.
