European Rally Championship Sibiu 2013

In the ending days of July we find ourselves in a hot and dusty Sibiu for the European Rally Championship one of the toughest gravel rallies in the world, only second to the Acropolis rally. Drivers form all over Europe come here to see who is the fastest and perhaps more important which car lasts to the very end.

The event received great importance being shown live on Eurosport. Here the Skoda factory photographer takes a shot on their arch rival the Peugeot while the spectators enjoy the view.

The Romanian drivers are doing their best to keep up.

Go hard or go home, this is the motto of this Ukrainian driver.

The forest echoes with the sound of anti lag, every thing and everybody gets a good coating of dust

Most competitors have come from far away to get challenged by the legendary tough rally, this team makes no exception as the have come from Germany.

Three wheels is all it takes.

The local 2WD hero is at the top of his game with his Renault Clio.

As the dust settles the crowds make their way to the Santa Max stage, a stage that is made up of an tarmac uphill part and a downhill gravel part. This is the most popular stage with the spectators as they make camp in the beautiful valley and watch the cars driving all night long while doing BBQs

This is a favorite among the drivers as well as the huge number of spectators brings some of the group B madness back

The drivers do their best to reward the public with a good show.

This event is a good excuse for a camping trip so many families come with their kids to this event thus giving birth to a new generation of rally fans.

As the night gives way the cars start going all out again on the punishing gravel stages.

A Subaru giving all it's got.

Like any gravel rally suspension travel is very important as there are quite a few jumps

A humble 100 HP hatchback can be a potent machine in the right hands.

All in all it is worth it to get dusty and pelted with rooks to see the best in Europe at the top of their game.

Hill Climb Sinaia 2013

The Sinaia stage of the Romania Hill climb championship is perhaps the best to get up close and personal with the cars as it takes place on the narrow streets of the city. A challenge for the drivers in the dry there is no room for mistakes and there were a few.

An Evo driven at the limit just looks right.

It is great to see classics driven hard event after event.

Perhaps the greatest looking Evo in the championship, this color looks awesome.

The tight streets took their toll, this unlucky driver skidded at almost 150km/h and ended it up in a stone fence.

Those rally guys are so slow, where are you?! The Dacia Logan club made a demonstration.

Its flat 4 sound is instantly recognizable. Go Subaru!

The best in its class, a 260HP pocket rocket built by my friend Vlad Pescaru.
