King of Europe Drift Brasov 2013

One of the best drifting championships in Europe took place at Brasov on the Prejmer kart circuit, located about 15 km from the city its self. Tire smoke pouring out of wheel arches, engines screaming, car at the limit of control this is the art of drifting.

Here's an Ukrainian driver with his 200SX, an amazing driver with an awesome technique and car.

Good angle, not so much smoke as it had just stopped raining...

American muscle, there's noting like a big V8 howling.

European sophistication vs American might

An unusual appearance, this is the first 5 cylinder Audi that I know that is used in professional drifting

Air goes in witchcraft happens and then you go faster.

Racing is rubbing, literally.

Drifting is all about the maximum amount of speed that you can carry while going sideways.

But if you overdo it you might end up in the kitty litter or worse.

Hill Climb Cozmeni 2013

The start of Summer also marks the start of the Autocrono hill climb championship, a grassroots regional championship. This event is the first for a number of competitors, it is fun to watch and the mood is very light.

An other attraction for me is that some of my best friends are competing. Here we have Vlad Pescaru a race car builder and driver

A very past 911 Porsche, you can only imagine the flat 6 echoing in the surrounding foot hills

What looks awesome in a photograph is not the best for racing times

Wonderfull weather, friends all around this is what makes this rally such an enjoyable event

Red seems to be the favorite color here

And last but not least Andrei Pop one of my friends from far away, driving a rally classic a Mk2 Ford escort. He drove the car to the event and back home for a total of 700 Km

Hill Climb Teliu 2013

Set in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains 30 Km from Brasov the Teliu stage is the third of the Romanian Hill climb championship, the rules are very permissive and as long as you have the proper safety gear you can run what you bring, this naturally leads to a great variety of cars.

Genuine rally cars like the Mitsubishi Evo.

Classic cars like the BMW 2002.

Small hatchbacks like the Citroen Saxo.

Diesel powered hatchbacks.

Legends race cars.

Single seaters with screaming 3 liter V8 engines.

And arguably the best small sports sedan the BMW E30, my all time favorite, tough a bit biased as I own one...

Battle it all out to see how is fastest! This is the Romania Hill climb championship the breeding ground for the fastest drivers in the country.
